Project Tydecho – Saving St Tydecho for Future Generations.
The Church in Wales closed St Tydecho in Llanymawddwy for worship in 2006. Following a public meeting in Dinas Mawddwy Village Hall in 2023 the Community approached the Church in Wales who offered to give St Tydecho back to the Community subject to repair funds being secured. Volunteers formed Ffrindiau Tydecho Friends, a group looking at options to support St Tydecho’s future. Funds have been raised through the Architectural Heritage Fund to cover the initial cost of assessing the condition of St Tydecho. The building needs a new roof and other significant repairs to make it suitable for future community use. Our ambition is to put the Church back into good condition and to make it available for Community uses.
